The process of updating the DNS servers around the world with the new information for a domain name can take up to 72 hours to complete, although it usually takes much less time.
During the domain propagation process, different ISPs (Internet Service Providers) propagate the changes at different times, which can cause some users to be able to access the new website while others cannot.
You can use the command “nslookup” in the command prompt of your computer or you can check the status of the website on a website like “www.whatsmydns.net“
TTL stands for Time To Live, it’s a value in the DNS record that tells caching DNS server for how long they should keep the records in their cache before looking for new information.
Unfortunately, there is no way to speed up the propagation process. The changes have to be sent to the root servers, TLD servers, and then to the authoritative DNS servers, which all take time.
